Our lives are driven by different desires at different levels. Typically, there are the desires for appetite, money and power, and sex. Horizontally, the photos progress from the desire for appetite to that for sex, signifying the transition from physical needs to spiritual needs. Vertically, the photos indicate that desires would strengthen over time if one loses control on her desires; the vertical decline in the saturation degrees of the photos also indicates the growing intensity of gloominess as desires become increasingly out of control.
