Description: Some of my foreign friends have known my hometown Nanjing as a place of sadness and horror, because of the notorious Nanjing Massacre. Therefore, this interactive autobiographical work is partly created to introduce Nanjing from different perspectives. Inspired by my own “describe-the-city-you-live-in” experience in TOEFL Speaking Test to test the effectiveness of the microphone, I designed the first scene as a guy wearing earphones and asking users to describe the city they live in, signifying that I was not native to the United States.The interactive experience starts with shouting out “I live in Nanjing!”. Then comes the Mackey Mackey. Stepping on the foot keyboard, audience are then expected to follow the guide of a cartoon Wendi in to various places that have shaped who Wendi is today: from the unknown snack bars in street to long-standing Ming Dynasty City Wall.
